The Practice // Virtual Summer Yoga Immersion for Teens  [COVID -19 Edition]
July 2020

For the current times on the planet, Chelsea and Danielle have created a yoga immersion just for teens to learn practices that gift a sense of inner knowing and tap into our innate ability to calm.

How are you feeling right now? Do you wish you could see your friends and connect with people who understand you? Do you feel uncertain and anxious? Are you worried about the future? Are you curious to learn more about yoga? This immersion will use yoga practices to connect you to the wisdom that lies within you. These practices will give you a sense of connection to your body, a deeper awareness of your personal needs and innate knowing and a deeper connection to your intuition. You will come away with tools to use off of your mat to relieve stress and give yourself a sense of calm and steadiness as you walk the planet. Practices will include Mindful Flow, Yin Yoga, and Kundalini Meditation and Breathwork, which we will support with authentic dialogue, journaling, and sharing. Come as you are. There is no prior yoga experience necessary. Learn how to utilize your physical body as an instrument to process the emotions and feelings you are experiencing in these times.

You will have lifetime access to our course platform beginning when you enroll. Each Sunday during the immersion, that week’s Practices will be uploaded and you can work through them on your own timing. We will meet live on Zoom every Thursday from 12-1:30pm PST. These live sessions will be our time to come together in community to share reflections, questions, and heart-centered dialogue. Chelsea and Danielle will be available for support between sessions via the Voxer app, as well as the community board in your course dashboard. We can’t wait to practice with you!

Danielle Kurtz

Hi! My name is Danielle Kurtz and I am a Yin & Kundalini Yoga teacher, Reiki Energy Healer and Breathwork Guide  My yoga journey began when I was 18 years old when my Mother took me to my first yoga class.  The time spent in yoga classes during my late teens gifted me tools that have served me in major moments in my life.  Learning how to breathe deeply and feel safe in my body allowed a deeper wisdom within to rise up in moments of major life shifts.  These tools have served me and continue to serve me through the emotional rollercoaster that is life on planet earth.  I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you!

In 2002 I spent 2 years living and teaching high school English to teenagers in Japan. I love working with this age group.  You are the future leaders of our planet and I believe in your ability to navigate with calm and grace.  I am so excited to share this ancient practice that is so supportive for modern times.

I live in Seattle, WA with my Partner, Dan, our seven year old son, Remy and have two dogs, Coulee & Rhonda.  I love all things yoga, dance and travel.

Chelsea Spicer

Hi, I’m Chelsea, founder of Luna Rasa and one of your guides for The Practice. I have been a teacher, coach, and mentor for teens since 2008, working in public education, test prep, college admissions, and now in my own practice teaching yoga and mindfulness as well as mentoring women and teens. In The Practice, I will be teaching Yin Yoga and Mindful Flow as well as Mindfulness and Meditation.

My teenage years were marked by trauma and upheaval. I lacked the tools to process these experiences in a healthy way, and while therapy was helpful, I frequently felt depressed, anxious, and disconnected from my body. When I discovered yoga in college, everything changed. For the first time in my life, I felt at home in my body and began a long process of self-healing. To this day, my yoga practices continue to be an anchor and an avenue for self-study, self-discovery, and self-love. The connection to my breath, body, and inner knowing helps me to navigate the ebbs and flows of life with steadiness and grace… mostly ;) I feel called to share these practices so that teens may have more access to the lifelong tools that would support them, at the times they need them most.

I now live in Seattle with my fiance and our baby-dog, Poppy. We love camping and boating, gardening, and (when possible) live music and traveling.
